FAQs

  • Which certifying organization is right for me?
American Heart Association and American Red Cross are both well-known and highly recognized organizations. Choosing the right one depends on your needs/wants. If you are taking the class to fulfill a job requirement, ask your employer what they require. If you are just looking to become certified to increase your lifesaving skills and knowledge, both organizations are excellent choices.
  • Which CPR certification class should I take?
If you are pursuing certification to fulfill a requirement, it is important that you check with your employer or organization to find out what they require. If you are looking for a class with a first aid component, then the Heartsaver FA AED CPR course is right for you. If you are looking to pursue a position in healthcare, then look no further than the American Heart Association BLS or Heartcode BLS course. These both offer the BLS certification, but Heartcode BLS is divided into an online component and an in-person skills session.
  • Can I book a private class?
Yes! For booking classes that aren't on the schedule, contact us at maviles@carryontraining.org. Private classes are subject to travel fees and size requirements depending on your group/business location.
  • How long will it take to receive my certification?
While it can take up to 20 days for the certification to be sent via email, you can expect to receive it in less than 1-2 weeks.
  • How long is my certification valid?
Most certifications will expire in 2 years.
  • Is there an age requirement to take a CPR course?
There is no age requirement, but successful students must be physically able to perform adequate compressions to ensure high-quality CPR. For BLS classes, the student must also be able to comprehend the information well enough to pass the written exam. Any student under 18 who is unable to provide their own transportation MUST be accompanied by an adult.
